Cap 1 Covection 0

Not a good sign to see a decent cell like that get hammered. Perhaps we need the middle layers to cool a bit?

It's all about Location, Location, Location....

Wish they'd wipe their bloody window! Ah done now ...

Hopefully this new cell will do something! Cap maybe screwing this up for chasers who've converged here though.

Radar presentation on this cell isn't too great either now.

It's late, I think I'll go to bed and check back in the morning.

Night night

I dunno, looks a bit healthier this one on radar, with tops to 35,000ft and 1" hail. Could still evaporate but have a better feeling this has broken the cap.

That storm has a great couplet developing at higher scans so I'd say this could definately produce quite quickly.

Yes, possible inflow notch or hook showing on radar:

seems to be deviating more SE aswell which will enhance SRH.

Team on the move now after it ...

I'm not quite sure what you mean by couplet Gorky. Could you please explain as I've never heard of this term/phrase used in Meteorology before?

Collins English Dictionary: Couplet n two successive lines of verse, usually rhyming and of the same metre. For instance "Humpty dumpty sat on a wall.

Humpty dumpty had a great fall."

Back to the chase....... :good: The Live Streaming is fantastic. Great work NW.

Winds moving in opp directions very close together on the doppler part of the the radar scan, they indicate rotation. They are coupled together hence a couplet. I always think of two couples dancing to remember it.

A couplet is an area of winds on a doppler radar velocity scan indicating winds travelling in opposite directions in very close proximity to each other. This would be represented by bright red and green colours next to each other on the radar. This is indicative of circulation in a storm

Thanks Sammie

Well spotted there Gorky and Nick........things seem to be happening rather quickly now. Great to see the hook appearing on the radar.....signs of a very unstable atmosphere/rotating cell with the prospects of a tube in the immediate future I suspect.

I cant load the NW webcam right now, but the storm seems to be building, so it may be that their sat link is being affected.

Anyone know where they are now, cos their movements havent been updated (for me at least).

TVS showing on the latest scan on the storm, still got a good hook with rain free inflow area.

Sno'problem, think the team are following closely the storm ...

Thanks Nick. Suddenly the feed is working, and the team have disembarked and are studying the sky behind them with camera's ready, so I assume things may kick-off soon.

Tell them to turn the camera round!!!

Chase terrain not ideal round there, lots of trees and getting a bit hilly going east ...

Hi Guys

Currently Grabbing some Lightning Shot of the Supercell as it moves away. For your Info We were in Breckenridge when the Storm went up above our heads and followed it South and East all the way, always under the Base and Wrapping rain curtains, it tried soooo many times, had numerous Funnels but could not produce a Tornado. Were with about 1,000 Chasers on this Storm, Currently just South of I20

Evening all, havent contributed to the discussion this evening thought I'd like

to sit back and watch the streaming(for a change) as the signal has been pretty

strong throughout and ive enjoyed it immensely... The cell has been giving TVS

again a few moments back but collapsing quite readily now (down to 23,000 ft

from 42,000 in about 10 mins) still no confirmed tornado from this storm, certainly

looked like plenty of potential a couple of hours ago with great circulation, at least

a storm came as it looked like the lid was tight shut on any development occurring

at all even the SPC downgraded to slight but kept a 10% tornado risk.
