Dry, breezy, cloudy and mild up to observation.

Showers soon broke out during the late morning and became heavy in the afternoon with a short but moderate thunderstorm here, and with lightening strikes very close to this station, nearby property was probably struck as emergency services were in the area for some time afterwards. Mostly on the cool side with the temperature mainly around 12c, but briefly reached 14.5c in bright spells. Maximum wind gust, 24mph, WSW.

Hmm, far more cloud now, so much for a sunny day here now.

Mild tho, if a bit breezy at times, but not the continuous wind we had earlier in the week.

Currently 17.2c has hit 18c in sunnier times earlier this morning.

Dry, cloudy and boring in Exeter- not really the sort of convective day I was expecting. However, judging by the radar it doesn't look like one of those classic "sunshine-and-showers" days for most of the country- it looks more like organised areas of showery rain.

Frequent showers yesterday gave a 24 hour total of 6.0mm, although some of the showers were quite heavy they moved through quickly on a f4-5 SW wind.. Thunder was heard to the south and south west on a couple of occasions during the afternoon.

Apart from one brief and light shower around midday, today has been dry so far with a few sunny intervals. Temp' is 11.6c at present.

Just shows what more altitude and more northerliness will do. Max' for the month here so far is 15.9c on the 1st, the legacy of the late April warmth. A couple of other days over 14c and the rest mostly between 9 and 12.5c.
