Hi all,

Left Hays, Kansas and heading south currently.

Bit of a down day today but a travel day south to get in position for some possible severe weather over N/NW TX during the new week.

We are heading down the Hwy 183 which goes past Greensburg, so we will show Arron and Mark areas which are still left untouched in Greensburg after an EF5 ripped through the town 2 years ago on 4th May 2007. So keep an eye out on the livestreaming in an hour or so and you may see the damage for yourselves.

After that, we will head SW and S down to Amarillo, TX and stay at the Big Texan. Looking foward to a nice steak and seeing Ian's name in the book for achieving the 72oz steak. There will likely be other UK chasers there too.

Cumulus is bubbling up in 28C temps in mostly blue skies, so could see a few pop-up storms on the way from the day-time heating.

Just bagged two dust devils across the dirt fields of Kansas, probably see more today - ideal conditions with light winds and strong heating.

Nice little cell near Beaver in the Panhandle about 100 miles SSW of you. Not moving anywhere fast so you might pick it up in three of four hours.

How is everyone feeling at the moment. It must be so frustrating having the upper winds just die on you, especially given juice and heat has returned in abundance. I really hope something changes in the next three or four days.

I did look at Monday as having pssibilities down in W TX but my post has been lost.

Very frustrating the current pattern Neil, just got to make the most of it. Looks like picking up on Tuesday looking at the 12z WRF - with perhaps a low end severe potential over N and NW TX as CAPE builds and we see a shallow trough arrive from west at long last.

Can see the storms to our SW over OK Panhandle on radar, we will be heading that way shortly down the 54from Greensburg to Liberal then on south through OK Panhandle and TX Panhandle to Amarillo - passing under those pulse stoms hopefully.

Yea good performance from NAM in particular as it picked up on the potential in C W and S TX two days ago.

You'll probably need to get to Abilene and south to get the best of the shear on offer but I'll have another look in the morning our time. At least it'll make an interesting morning read.

Are you at the Texan yet or are you scooting aroung the pulse stuff currently over you area?

Incidentally, we have a plume here tommorow with LIs of -11 and available CAPE in the 1750+ range but with a strong cap. Expecting intense storms to break out along the M4 corridor northwards from 17Z.
