June 1822 was a hot month with a CET of 17.1

Weather detail

1st-8th: Fine, clear and very warm

9th: Some lightning from 11 to 12pm

10th: Heavy storm in evening after a very hot day

13th: Fine day, brisk air.

15th: Showery

18th-22nd: Fine

25th-27th: Fine

July and August 1822 were cooler and more unsettled although there was still some warm days.

Just before June, there was a huge hailstorm which hit London on the 25th of May. Lightning was severe over western parts of London. In Kensington Palace Gardens, 1500 square metres of glass was destroyed by hail. Hailstones were measured about 3 inches in circumference.

it would be interesting to see how much hotter june 1822 would be today...bearing in mind london is a huge conurbation now compared to then and all the associated heat island effect would have.

lots of single figure minimums in there which are almost unheard of in a london summer these days.

about the same it just goes to show that heat has been around for a long time and im sure its been hotter in our planets life time.

Depends what station those readings are from. London saw quite a few single figure minimums last June in the more rural parts as did much of the country.

It would be hotter, but London was still a big city, even in those days.

yes but it wasnt a blazin june was it???...what im talkin about is numerous hot days followed by chilly nights
