One of the brightest displays i've ever seen tonight. Excellent shots from you both, ive just took a couple of

images but couldnt be bothered to dig out the tripod so excuse any 'shaken' looking images.

Just took an image off as it was crap... this one aint much better...!!!

Pocket digi on available light setting so pretty rubbish shots, there is a lot more detail than shown - setting up the SLR as we type! B)

I saw it too! fantastic display! I managed to take some photos but they are very poor and don't do it justice, it almost seemed to fill the sky at one point!

Wow amazing pics everyone! I cant believe I completely missed the desplay last night because I just forgot to look! I have a feeling that it may have been cloudy here but i think it broke up towards the right time to see them.

Nic Pics everyone.

I noticed their rapid fade. Mr Kar told me about them at 22:45 and they were almost 45º above the horizon. Within 30 -40 minutes they were sinking low in the North. Compare my first to last photos above. Guess it's coming towards the end of the season as the sun sinks lower.

EDIT: Some crackin' shots over at Spaceweather.com http://spaceweather.com/nlcs/gallery2009_p...pvq10jpltktc7b6

I also managed to see last night's display , and it was absolutely fantastic! :cray:

Was going off to bed at around 11pm and thought i'd just have a quick look out the window and managed to spot them slowly moving southwards. Quickly got dressed and ran outside to take some photo's and took a couple more from inside.

Here's one of the images i took showing how bright the display was :-

One here in Solihull, bearing in mind that where I live is a large and well streetlit area, these were the brightest I've EVER seen. :(

Taken at 11:28pm, Sunday 12th July 2009.

Phil.

HEADS UP! for another show of noctilucent clouds tonight by the look of it, for those of you with cameras, as I can see the beginnings of some forming here in Kent so look towards the sunset.

Took this shot last night over the hills, about 11.30pm was at it's brightest sorry about the reflection of streetlights took a quick shot before bed! but you get the idea. :)

can faintly see the beginnings of NLC here tonight, and at the moment it is similar to Sunday, covers a lot more of the sky than yesterday (further 'up' in the sky) :)

Will need it to get darker to see it properly though :)

as it slowly gets brighter, the NLC reaches almost overhead! B) :)

this display really is something - not particularly bright yet, but overhead nonetheless! Never seen it cover so much of the sky before B)

Sounds good hope you enjoy it. :) Not much chance of my cloud clearing i don't think.
