Been raining for 12 hours now - in verying intensity. 19mm has fallen in that time which is more than we had total in many weeks now.

Temp now bottomed out to 12.2c so feeling pretty nippy. Looks like rain might clear from here soon so maybe some brightness later (says hoping!).

Cold day today, rain and 9.6C.

Despite many thinking it's a good thing that there is rain for the gardens this is not actually true at this temperature. At 9C bedding flowers start to die off quite quickly as most of them like Impatiens are very tender and then at 5C and below the foliage starts to die away - rain accentuates this process - so it's definitely not a good day to have rain, with these cold temperatures when bedding plants have recently been planted.

I can assure you I'm being deadly serious when I say, I'll be happy with summer if it gets above 20C again in June because I feel at the moment 20+ temperatures are going to be like big clumps of gold at the moment

Yesterday:

A cool start, but not as cool as yesterday, minimum temperature 6.0c and 3.3c on the grass.

There were large amounts of cloud through the morning, though with sunny spells developing towards the observation. The morning and the early part of the afternoon continued unexpectedly pleasant with sunny spells and just a light wind and the temperature climbing to close to 18c. The latter part of the afternoon turned cloudy with a few spots of rain, and the temperature fell back to close to 14c.

8.9c now and for an east to SE wind this is very cold for June other reading only reads 7c

Rain finally stopped with some brightness now appearing. Now 13.7c but feels 'ok' when moving around in the murky sunshine. Will prob rise now sun is coming out properly.

Cloudy and dry here at the moment, the rain should be arriving very soon though. Quite cold for the time of year, just 8.3C. A 20C drop in daytime temperatures in just a few days.
