Max temp of 12.9c before the rain arrived this morning. Currently a very cool and wet June afternoon, only 9.5c! Looks like a fairly notably cool day for June, some places remaining below 10-12c.

Well its been raining heavily and solidly since roughly 1am this morning. Must have had a few inches of rain. Most rivers and streams have broken thier banks and many roads closed due to flooding.

The temp has just scraped 9.5C and thats the highest it has been all day.

I think the weather is compensating for the almost bone dry weather of the last fortnight. More rain expected in the early hours of Sunday-Great!

More like one inch according to the NW accumulation feature... still a fair bit though! 2-3 inches in places further south-west.

Im going by a very accurate measure that is well known across the weathering world though . There is a bucket in the garden that is approx a third full and that has all accumulated from 6pm onwards last night.

Remarkably despite the forecast for last night and today, it has stayed bone dry here so far. No measurable rainfall this month so far.

Still a cold day for June though, with a maximum temperature earlier of 13.8C.

It is now mostly cloudy with overcast spells. Temperature: 12.5C, Humidity: 68%.

My earlier max was 9.7c today even had a few glimpses of weak sun early,and recently when it went back to 9.6c/9.4c now with light drizzle,coldest day since March 29th.

And the coldest June day considering it was so late in the month since 1997 with a howling N-ly gale,and was the coldest summer day I recorded aswell as early June 1991(7c on old reading like today and it felt very cold out in that wind)

And still the rain falls. It has eased of SLIGHTLY but it wouldnt take much because it has been simply streaking down since 1am. Temp 9.5C and just a very slight breeze.

Heavy rain last night and this morning, light/moderate rain all afternoon, thoroughly miserable! Current temperature 11.1C which feels cool in the brisk easterly breeze. Ref Albion Snowman's earlier post, most local weather station's reporting 1 to 1.5 inches here today, but since yesterday there is a probably a good 2 inches in the bucket in my garden, and alot more rain is forecast during the next 24 hours. :lol:

Make no doubt about it, today for some parts of the country notable Wales, SW England and West Midland and parts of Ireland is a shockingly poor one indeed for June.

Some absolutely woeful maximums are being recorded, with many of these areas struggling to have reached double figures, big shock to the system after the heat of the early part of the week. This will go down for SW England in particular as a notable switcharound, from maxes of 27 degrees on Tuesday to well 9 degrees in the space of 4 days.

Here it hasn't been too bad a day, the morning was cold and cloudy and wet, but the rain was never very heavy and it slowly cleared through lunchtime. This afternoon has been dry and we have some sunny spells but a nagging cold NE wind. Maxed out just below 13 degrees, a poor figure for June but nothing compared to those places who have stayed below 10 degrees.

Will be interesting to see who has recorded the lowest maximum today. Yesterday Warcop in East Cumbria saw the lowest max of just 7.2 degrees, very very poor indeed. Think coldest spot will go to somewhere like Sennybridge in Wales.
