This time last week Jim and I were camping it up on the Mull of Kintyre - and it was too hot. Up at 08h15 every morning to get out of the heat of the tent; but walking along the beach at 10pm whilst paddling in shorts and t-shirt made up for it - enjoy :D

gorgeous shots Shuggee!! just need to get the song out of my head now before I go to bed grrrr

:) Had the same thing in my head -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFhKmMWG3WE

I've only ever been up to the west coast once (Troon), and thought it was spectacular. Complete contrast to the likes of Edinburgh on the east side.

Did you eat any fish from Loch Fyne?

No fish - but had mussels. I like mussels.

It certainly is a beautiful part of the UK. A good 4 hours drive from Edinburgh, even though it's on the same latitude; suppose that could be compared to London to Devon.

Truly beautiful shots there Shuggee, love the sunset over water photos, particularly the second one. I really like the contrast of the lit water to the dark land.

Yeah - it really makes the silhouette of the Paps on Jura stand nicely out SS.

Splendid photos. How far in advance did you plan this trip? Planned based on the weather or a shot in the dark?

I have a bugbear though - they are certainly NOT palm trees! They are NZ "Cabbage Trees", generally considered hardy down to -10C.

Never knew that J07 - thanks for putting us right!

Was a complete fluke - we planned to go away that weekend a couple of months ago, and seeing as we had a hire car, it was basically a last minute location decision - 'let's go where the weather is likely to be the best' scenario

That's just so wrong in so many ways...

Yeah - it really makes the Paps on Jura stand nicely out.

But I thought you said it was hot....and who's this Jura lassie?

Beautiful scenes Mr. Shugs.
