Noctilucent Clouds

I had my first ever sighting of this rare phenomenon last night. They were viewable from at least 22:00 GMT (when i first spotted them) but they had completely vanished by 22:15 GMT. Still i managed to get a couple of shots to my north-northwest.

Nicely captured there First sighting then just like mine from early yesterday morning.

unfortunately some thick cirrostratus cloud spread in at just the wrong time down here last night.

surprisingly we would be still bright at 22:15 and wouldnt get dark to around 23:00 , which is quite funny due to the short distance betweeen here and kent.

Excellent! Saw this myself last night walking back from the pub. Not too common this far south.

Just to clarify, it was 22:00 GMT, i.e. 23:00 BST :lol:

But yes I have noticed a big difference between sunlight in Kent and the Isle of Skye on summer evenings

To much cloud cover up here to see any NCL's last night but pretty good display you had down yours MW well captured.

There are a couple of theories on why NCL are on the increase and sightings as far south as 40 degrees are being observed.

Have to admit that these are better than my last two efforts. Problem with living in the middle of a town is that you don't get the full effects unlike some of the more rural shots I've seen on here.
