Thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly Friday and likely to be rather busy.

Sorry have been too busy to issue a forecast for Thursday and Brick hasn't been around. But have issued one for Friday:

Fingers crossed this sticky atmosphere here tonight will yield something in the next 24 hrs over west Kent.

WOW. This is hands down the best storm I've seen since moving here in 2003. I've got loads of lightning photos and some of them are stunning. In absolute weathernerd heaven.

Can I ask the experts - what's the latest on the expected track of this MCS currently approaching IOW?

Watching the Bounemouth webcam & there doesn't seem to be more than a flash every 5 minutes, so whatever is happening down that way isn't that exciting.

They may linger on late into the evening tomorrow, but I think in your area of the UK it should be clear by nightfall.

Mainly heading NW along plume axis, though the loop suggests it spreading a little north too towards the Sussex coast.

The trough to the SW is lifting slowly N and NE, so storms will likely break out further east across Sern England with time.

It all looks a little to far south to hit the bristol area unless it starts to move in a more northerly direction?

Does anyone think they will head north abit more because all the storms have been passing to the south of me this evening although i have seen a few distant flashes and the ocasional rumbles of thunder. All quite disapointing so far.
