I see the 1pm temperatures are now out, and London Heathrow is 29.6c, with Charlwood and the London Weather Centre at 29.3c

No surprise to see 30C has been reached at Heathrow.

I know 30C isn't unusual during our summers but a week long spell of temps hitting 30C at the end of June/early July is still very impressive.

The combination of humidity/strength of sun is making these temps feel a good few degrees warmer.

I know what you mean because when I have visited places such as Ibiza, Rhodes its always been very hot but without the humidity.

However it could just of been that I was that drunk I didn't notice.

26.6c at the moment, but it isn't really that humid at 59%.

Last night's minimum of 17.5c was the warmest night here since 4 Sept 2006!

An unbelieveably scorching 20.8C here

Looks like areas close to the North sea are having temperatures held back by a breeze. Im not complaining though as the current temperature is perfect for me.

Hot here but humidty isn't quite as high as places further north, thanks to the higher temps and slightly lower dew points.

Anyway 30C has indeed been reached, will be interesting to se if it can make it to 31C, still time for that to happen.

Are you sure about that ? The reason I ask is that at 1pm, the hotspot was London Heathrow at 29.6c (Which some websites have rounded to 30c), whereas at 2pm, the temperature at London Heathrow was down to 29.1c, so are we sure the temperature actually reached 30c? I don't know the answer to that, I just thought I'd raise the question.

yes, its nice when you get a few 25 deg days with not so much humidity, but these sticky hot spell when you live in a city do actually get rather unpleasant. anything over 27 is interesting from a weather observers perpective, but a waste, in my opinion, in this country where it tends to go hand in hand with humidity - it becomes too much.

Has that figure not just been rounded up from the 29.6C that has been quoted?

Yes indeed which is what I just said. The temp then dropped a bit and has now increased again. Due to the cloud cover that has popped up!

Both Heathrow and Farnborough showing 29°

but my own thermo is reading 31.3°

That was at 1320 and the 1350's should be out any time now.

Quite suprise at how warm its turned out here, this morning we had a cool sea breeze coming in and temps were around 21c, but around lunchtime spots of cloud bubbled up and the temperature has shot up to the 24/5c region, with a max so far of 25.8c.

Some small thundery looking clouds have bubbled overhead again, current temp.23.3c
