Had rain overnight, still very humid, currently cloudy at 19.7c here. Although it barely dropped below 19c last night so not a rapid rise in temperatures yet. Looking a little cooler today but will take until Sunday it seems to really cool down here.

Although saying that the BBC have had it 29-30c over the last few days and around here we've managed to reach 27-28c so their 27c max today might mean only 25c or so around here, so it's going to feel a little bit cooler regardless.

Not a drop of rain here at all. Anything left on the front fizzled out before it passed over this part of the county. Still a warm and muggy night, but feeling a bit fresher this morning.

The storm you can hear Bottsford is possibly the one occurring now over the Burton and south Derbyshire area.

It is quite a severe intensity storm giving frequent lightning and thunderclaps and torrential rain. 15mm of rain so far according to my AWS, though that tends to under read, I will be checking the MO standard rain gauge at 09:00GMT, so there will be undoubtedly a few mm more from that.

Paul

ps having trouble posting this as the adsl keeps going down due to the static from the storm, so this may be duplicated.

Muffled thunder heard in the past half hour or so, probably from the storm over Paul at the moment.

Currently overcast and misty with continuous moderate rain, the heaviest of it seems to be passing to the west and the east of here. Temp' is 16.2c after a min' of 14.4c. Wind is 6 mph NE. Vis', 1 mile.
