Today is the day that Earth is furthest from the Sun, something to remember if you actually see the sun today! Unfortunately, I did not, it was the very darkest of winter days, incessantly grey and pretty much 9C all day.

Unbroken sunshine and already feeling warm at 18c after a low of 16.7c (the lowest in ages and the first sub 20c minima since Tuesday).

Looks like a good day ahead - perfect if showers keep away.

Sunny start, cloud has developed as the morning has developed, now it would be called "Sunny Spells" although its pretty cloudy at present. Measuring 24c in the garden, so still a little bit of heat around here, looks like cooling down a bit more tomorrow then levelling off at the low 20s for the rest of the week.

Currently 24c and sunny and still humid so not that big a change from yesterday with only a brief burst of rain late last night from the front which was supposed to cool us down. Secured another lovely batch of hay yesterday but the spring barley crops are now really suffering with the heat and prolonged dry weather with large white areas appearing where they are prematurely dying off. No second cuts of silage in this area unless we get some significant rain soon as most grass has stopped growing or is completely brown , the lawnmower will be in the shed for a while!!!!

I've just noticed that Kinloss has an RH of 83%. Now, it's around 24C here just now; so it's no wonder it's still so sticky. Roll-on next week!
