[Thundery wintry showers]

A fair amount of cloud in Exeter but some sunny intervals, and some showers coming through at times.

After a couple of short and heavyish showers between 0800 and 0915 g.m.t it's been a dry day with sunny periods here.

I've got my sights set on the showers moving north east from Herefordshire at the moment; could they make it this far?

A much better day than was forecast by Met Office/BBC down here today, has been gorgeous & sunny all day & much warmer than the 19C predicted too... Do they not think that if we get a night time low of 17C then temperatures are not going to rise more than 2C, on a sunny day in July?!? <_< Anyway it peaked here this afternoon at 25.5C (78F) & Southsea beach was packed again...

Its been another beautiful day with a max of 26.5c, although I suspect this may be a little too high (strange really as the sensor is on the north side of the house in the shade. Currenty clear, 23c and with a refreshing SW breeze. Having seen posts from the west midlands of ony 4 days of good weather has really cemented the fact that this warm and dry spell must have been local to the East and South East (away from the coast) and how lucky we have been this summer.

Sunshine and light showers for the remainder of the day- a few big Cb cells but nothing particularly heavy over Exeter.

Was also in the West Country over the weekend - down in Somerset we had pretty good weather Saturday afternoon/Sunday all day, with the exception of a shower around 1600 today near Ilminster. Partly cloudy and generally pleasant. Maximum (Sat) 24.5, minimum (Sat night) 13.7. Maximum today in the Reading area was around 22.
