Dark with thunder in Peterborough. I reckon perfect set-up for tornado's today so keep your eyes open. One or two very likely somewhere.

Looking good for some meaty storms this afternoon

I'll be lucky to see a shower here today, let alone a storm, all north and west as usual, I don't usually complain but this is getting frustrating.

There have been plenty along the Essex coast.

Think the cell that gave thunder to Staffs was from here, but it was only a short rainstorm here, so has intensified as it moves north east. Nothing to our south west other than rain, but none of it electrical at the moment.

Central England looking quite interesting at the moment (pretty much, those who get it, the area covered by Central News).

Both scattered showers and scattered strikes showing up at the moment.

Wouldn't be so sure of that stormnut - showers/storms will continue to develop through the rest of the afternoon and probably into the evening time, and although is a SW to NE movement at the moment this will probably turn more W to E as the L continues on its path eastwards!

Not over yet by a long shot!!

Love the look of that - see stormnut, day hasn't even begun for the SE yet - as the earlier posts suggest the decent weather probably won't start for us until the mid to late afternoon!!

Very exciting day in prospect :D

Just heard my first thunder since the storms last week - there is a cell approaching from the SW.

EDIT: It's actually to the NW.

Torrential downpour, with a single but very loud rumble of thunder, its going to be short lived though as its already brighter to the SW

Thanks for the replies guys. Yep I must admit I was being a little negative there. Nothing to do with quiting smoking today I'm sure. Just want to see storms to pass the time I guess. Still like you say chin up, the day is young

Cha Ching! Now thats what we are talking about!

Passing t-storm here atm but if only I could get out and do some funnel cloud/tornado spotting... I have the feeling today will be a perfect set-up. Already witnessed 2x funnel clouds this year local to me.

Tornado's seem to favour the cooler more fluent set-up like today, which has occured quite a few times this year.

lets hope something later develop's into a Storm...

First real heavy shower here..

No thunder yet

I see it looks as if the North are doing the best at present with sferics

Passing downpour here now - did JUST miss as I suspected it might - haven't heard any thunder but the sky does look thunder - looks as if it has a pretty substantial anvil on it too! My get interesting for NE London, NW Essex in the next 10-15 minutes or so.
