What a disappointing mid July day again, occasional light showers and its now overcast, the wind is very strong for mid July, July is supposed to be not that windy, very unusual indeed the amount of windy days we are having, the jet stream is not where its supposed to be, the temp a very mediocre 19C.

amusing is'nt it

the temperatures in the west Midlands are reported as 19-20C one with 21C.

the average for July is 20-21C

wind speeds are being reported as 10-12mph; the average for that area, according to UK Met is about 8-9mph!

Indeed John I just checked this area and you're correct in what you say.

I think Eugene must be very unlucky and happens to live in the wettest, coolest, windiest, most miserable location in the UK. <_<

Nothing 'autumnal' here...Warmish, humid and in-betwwen downpours. Seems typical to me? <_<

In Norwich it started sunny, clouded over in late morning then the afternoon and evening has seen prolonged sunny spells and occasional sharp showers, most of the showers just to the east of here which produced the odd distant rumble of thunder. A fair bit of breeze around at times, mainly when the showers turned up. Norwich Airport logged a maximum of 23C.

Overall a pretty pleasant, and interesting, summer's day.

Almost a carbon copy of what we had yesterday, in the main a fairly dry alebit cloudy day, however we did see some sharp showers early in the morning. Feeling quite humid and muggy at times aswell. Like yesterday the clouds quickly deepened around 6pm to deliver thunder and lightning and heavy rain, although unlike yesterday it was much less intense.

The evening has seen a mixture of dry and cloudy conditions interspersed with mainly light showers. Wonder whether we see a repeat of yesterday around midnight again of very intense heavy rain and thunder..

This is turning out to be a rather thundery summer here in the Lake District.
