By the looks of it, the fleeting shower we had a few minutes ago has flared to the East of us. Plenty of convective cumulus around - looks interesting.

As far as I can tell they're all showing nothing after about 1000hrs. I think they're down aswell.

Surprised nobody has reported the flash and bang over London about 15 mins ago!!

Was very surprised considering the SE is supposed to be one of the few areas not prone to this today

Good afternoon, heavy shower just pushed in here from the West, heavy wind driven rain becoming almost horizontal at times, I'm glad I'm not out in this!

Not feeling very warm today either.

No lightning yet but the windy is getting very squally.

And now the rain is becoming torrential, roads are turning to rivers already, slowly brightening from the west, plenty of other cells around, one passed to my South earlier with a very photogenic updraft tower going up behind it.

It managed one distant flash as it moved away, no thunder heard though, 6th week in a row that we've had an overhead storm.

Hi Harry,

the showers passing over here in the last hour have been pretty beefy and are developing all the time... you never know you may get lucky as they look to be forming a decent line!

Well it's been a good morning for torrential down poors.

Looks like the worst is over, with nothing coming up from the West. Must have added another 10-15mm today.

Just had a mad little storm that lasted 30mins here in MK, lovely backsheared anvil with nice mammatus. I thought it was all over before it had arrived to be honest, heard 20-30 deep booms in the distance. Sky however turned black and dropped 5 mins of heavy rain which turned into pea sized hail. As the lower base started to clear all i could see was the anvil above me lit up by the sun, then we got some huge cracks of thunder from IC's which arced from the anvil accross the lower base. Have to say, best storm this year so far :)

Had one torrential downpour about an hour ago in Cambridge. Just hearing some rumbles of thunder in the distance now. Looking at the radar, looks as though another downpour, and some thunder,is about to hit.

Only the car roof..!! Talk about localized..!!! :) ...

Temps rising, Dp's rising, humidity on the climb and heavy showers encroaching wont be long before my location

should catch a shower or two, no Sferics detected yet but only a matter of time , hopefully..

Exactly 1 Year to the Day of 6th August 2008 when parts of the South East had a 4-6 hour MCS - Surely History is not going to repeat itself. All Models now going with a Hot spell from Midweek next week with highs of 30-32c in the South East and a Thundery breakdown on Some Models!
