Yeah just had some very heavy rain here in Dorset with the odd flash and rumble but nothing showing on the detectors, just had a nightmare drive with roads flooded etc.

Looking very nasty over north France and heading towards IOW/Southhampton maybe? Only an hour or so away from me so thinking about going on a bit of a chase but need to hold off untill the last minute as I have no internet radar once I leave the house :wallbash:

Yes BBC mentioning there will be flash flooding in places due to the intense downfalls...

Looks nasty for the S/E later with an intense radar reading in N.France

Is it me or are things at the moment more west than expected? If so then great! A few sferics detected in the rain to our south. Lovely sunny and warm Right now.

I presume that my neck of the woods is less likely to see the plume than further west and north?

How is it looking for the SE for later?

You might catch it at work near finish time, but it could be the extreme edge at home later. There looks like there could be plenty of rain, some may even be asking 'Is Harry on the boat?'

Sorry, I'll get me coat (and wellies....)

Don't think they'll be any major surprises in store with regards to the positioning of the front and where the rainfall/storms actually head..think that E Mids parts of EA and the NE should be the main area of focus today. Could be wrong though.

Yes, on present track it looks like its going to pass just to the east of us.

For rain that is. Charts showing potential for 40mm of rain in parts of the East Midlands over a relatively short period tonight, but I don't see much scope for any T&L unless I'm missing something.

the heaviest is going to miss us to the East...But the Western Flank is slowly increasing in rain fall rate I think.

And the one now growing around Plymouth is expanding fast....Hopfully this is ours for later.

BBC did say a few hrs ago that the mIdlands would have some very heavy thundery rain with some TS embedded as Pos
