Norwich Airport says that 27C ended up as the maximum today, but it stayed at 27C for a full three hours. Temps look like holding up overnight as rather more humid air spreads from the SW, so could well be quite a "close" night in prospect- in contrast to last night when it fell to a very comfortable 11C. However, the tradeoff is that it's a perfect evening for sitting around outside long after dark.

Another sunny day in prospect tomorrow but probably not as hot- I'm expecting around 25C. Surprisingly, given the variable synoptics, it really has felt quite "summery" here over the last week or so with warm temperatures, absence of rainfall and plenty of sunshine.

Not a bad day here, we were on the boundery line so to speak between sunny skies and cloudy skies but it did clouded over more as the day went on and was thick enough for a short burst of rain.

Despite it being breezy, it was a nice warm breeze so perfect t-shirt weather, shame that the breeze tomorrow will be much cooler to be out in.

The warmest day of the summer with a maximum temperature of 25.3C.

The day started off mostly cloudy but it gradually burnt off to give a lovely clear afternoon and evening.

Its going to be a very warm night though, its almost 10pm and the temperature is still 21.3C.

In many ways the weather of the last couple of days has been reminiscent of a summer version of 11-15 February 1998 (if anyone remembers it). Blazing sunshine and unusual warmth towards the southeast (19.6C was recorded), copious amounts of rain in the north-west, and intervening areas dry but predominantly cloudy and humid. I remember in Tyne & Wear, under dry but predominantly cloudy weather, hearing about all the glorious sunshine they were having further south, though on the 13th February the brighter weather extended into Tyneside for a time.

The South East based media, of course, report as if the heat and sunshine is affecting the whole country in cases like this. :whistling:

What's with the level 3 warning only on NW ? What constitutes a level 5 ?

Some serious rain on the way for many (or arrived), on top of already significant rainfalls recently. Just because you have lovely and warm weather further south, doesn't mean you forget about other areas.

A beautiful hot summer's day with no cloud in sight and apparently not quite as humid as in the far southeast. Currently 19.3, maximum 28.3, last night's minimum 13.0. Wind light SE. The warmest day since the start of July.

A perfect day & evening. Lots of sunshine leading to a warm & clear evening. It was still warm enough for shorts all evening sitting out without that nasty chill which has been so common this summer.

21.7c at 2330 - fantastic stuff! If only at least 40-50% of summer days were like this! Shame it all goes back to normal tomorrow...
