No storm for mecray.gif One day, maybe one day.sad.gif

Only light rain here now.

Cant believe you didnt see anything! My mum rang me from work in Glos to tell me there was thunder there. I saw a fair bit of IC lightning around 2.30 where I was at work in Stroud, and heard the thunder from a few CGs. We also had quite a few overflowing drains etc. Second best storm of the year for me in my home town :D

Dad reported a lively storm in Coventry around 1530 today. I saw a flash of lightning to the distant east yesterday evening here.

Localized flooding between Lampeter and Tregaron at 1200 today, must have been 10mm or so in a few minutes, yet a mile away roads were just damp. A couple more very potent little downpours this afternoon. Only 5mm in my gauge though!

Charts looking at the potential for some thundery weather in the S and SE tomorrow and overnight tomorrow!

Here's hoping anyway - the last month has been horrendous!! Has been poor all round precip wise in Kent for August - Tonbridge has been one of the highest with 29mm for the month - here we've had less than that!! Very dry weather, which is great for the summery weather :), bad storm wise :D

havent seen a level 1 for a long time.

thought I heard thunder in the night...but I think it must of been a jet

met office first warning out

A band of heavy rain will move east later this morning and through the afternoon, giving 15 to 20 mm quite widely across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and up to 30 mm locally.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice regarding traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.

Issued at: 0630 Wed 2 Sep

Carlisle really had a good thunderstorm last night, the thunder was loud and the lightning was brilliant. It last for about 45mins, with gusty winds and the rain was terrible i could not see the bottom of the street. Not had one like that for a long time. :):)
