Cooler last night 8c under clear skies to start with,today started cloudy mostly cirrostratus and some stratus which thickened up at times to give some hill fog morning max 13.3c,then the sun came out and this afternoon was interesting with alt-cas to mid-level cumulus turrets most noticeably since July. A daytime max of 7.2C which only rose to 8.1C just before midnight due to air being drawn in off the Channel before This happened! that night will always be remembered in this area.. Where I live missed out on most of the action except lots of thunder/lightning but where I was staying at a friends house a few miles away got hit by the full force of the storm!

OP just beat me to it...

Mild and mainly cloudy, with only a little brightness late afternoon - certainly cloudier than the forecasts were indicating. Here in the central area of Reading it wasn't quite so cool last night - currently cloudy, 12.4 deg C, maximum 15.6, last night's minimum 9.5. Wind light S-SE.

Meanwhile...I wonder if the October 29 temperature record has been broken somewhere? 19.2 to beat, I believe.

Hopefully the last benign mild autumn day of the season (only because I have become tired of such weather now and after all we are entering Nov and such days should no longer be occuring). Tomorrow looks like staying dry until early afternoon, thereafter going downhill, still mild but with the generally more overcast skies and then rain it will not fall into the benign category.
