The temp is dropping fast here, so it's going to be the coldest night in a while.

Clear skies with the temp at 4c

Moderate to heavy rain this afternoon. A little hail mixed in at times I think. Blustery showers this evening/morning, wind from the NE about 7C. God it's depressing - not looking forward to Winter one bit. Just took my frustration out on my collection of rare breed Dartmoor ponies with a a red hot poker. Melted one of them down to traditional furniture glue just to cheer me up.

I'm feeling a bit neglected by the BBC. When I went to bed last night, they were talking about some very heavy showers for the south, and the odd shower in the north. Well, those odd showers in the north amounted to 53mm since yesterday lunchtime! There's been 16.8mm since midnight to add to the 36mm that fell before midnight. Isolated showers, my I have a problem.

4.3C right now, and grey.

Worst forecast I've seen in long time from Meto/BBC for this area.

It was absolute garbage. 53mm in 18hrs is pretty wet, even for here, but for there to be no mention of it at all is poor. Even the local Border News weather just talked about isolated showers and temperatures dropping down to below freezing.

They did issue an alert at 0423 but only for NE england.

Looking at the radar for 2100 yesterday, the rain over northern england isn't exactly insignificant!

I don't know how much we have had here and its still raining.

Well I'm barely on the edge of that, so some places must have had much more than me.

Fair bit of localised flooding. At least if brought the first snow to the tops.

You're not guarenteed a frost... The meto could be wrong and it could easilly go overcast :help:

It's highly unlikely at this time of year that anywhere at all in the UK stays below 0c in the 10 hours of daylight we have.

It's going to be around 0c here tonight. BBC going for sun later all day - I don't think that will come off either. Has been raining all night but my extremley annoying weather station didn't record it as usual!

Really annoyed at that. No wind 7.6c overcast.

I'm not saying that you wont get a frost... Because i think you live in a frost hollow.. So tonight will be perfect if it stays clear. If it does stay clear that 1c downwards is looking good for you tonight. It's going to be one of the coldest nights of the year so far tonight.

-5c to beat in Aviemore!

Most forecasts are going for sun this afternoon pretty much everywhere. I can see that happening now that i look at xc weather. You can see by the wind direction and the weather elsewhere that the cloud will clear.

It's a shame I have school tomorrow :help:

I wanted to stay up tonight as it was gonna be a cold night!

Still, I think my first frost is on the cards here and for many others.
