Windy and wet last night with more rain than the radar suggested. Seemed to have a spike of wind s bit like a squall line just after 2:30am with a gust only slightly less than the top gusts recorded on saturday. There is also quite a big branch down in the field visible from here that I didn't notice being there yesterday.

Rain cleared around 8.30am leaving a mainly cloudy day with some bright intervals. A short shower around 4.00pm at work in Basingstoke, and a few drops of rain in the past half hour here in Reading. Remaining mild - currently mainly cloudy, 10.4 deg C, wind moderate SW. Today's maximum 14.1, last night's minimum 7.3.

We were in Belgium for the Bruges beer festival over the weekend and were pretty lucky with the weather - it was mild and breezy with some rain in the early hours of the morning on Saturday and Sunday and heavy showers around Sunday lunchtime. Our crossing from Dover to Calais on Thursday was a bit choppy mid-channel, but the Sunday evening return trip was surprisingly calm. We got talking to some folks from Hull and weren't envying their crossing back from Zeebrugge on Saturday night
