    Found this...

Unlike Piers, I won't say he'll be wrong (unlike his comments about the METO...nice one Mystic Meg!).

Anyway, issued in July, but who cares.

All I can say is, he could have at least had a haircut, and done both his shirt button and tie up properly.

He's forecasting a cold winter, he did make a good point about the Met O though. I think he will actually be right this time.

His forecast of a rainsoaked super-windy October was as accurate as usual!

On this one, I make no attempt at 'spin.' The MetO's winter forecast was pretty dire!

Any link to Piers's winter???

    Well Fred

If I forecast a Severe Winty Winter every year like Piers and that Bastard Bloke then I am sure I would hit the nail on the head at least once and then cover myself in glory :clap:

That's the real point IMO, Paul...The two examples you 'cite' would have been right in '47, '63, '79 et al, but laughably way-off in every other year! Yet, still they get all the plaudits???:good:

I have read his indepth forecasts Pete and honestly, this winter has been very very good thus far.

I think the BBC and Meto forecasts have definitely been affected by the loss of top quality weathermen such as Michael Fish, Ian M and Bill GILES, John KETTLEY etc...they did seem to 'forecast' more rather than tell us what their models are showing.

Of course you would, but to be fair to them they've provided a rationale for their predictions rather than towing the line dictated to them by the politicians who want global warming to be real so that they can tax everyone to death and cede more power to a supranational government.

That's true Magadan...But, what about (most other years) when their rationales come to nothing?

Aye, he predicted the severe storms and widespread flooding we had at the end of December and the very mild weather we're experiencing this week :nonono:

I think he's expecting it to turn colder again from the 2nd Feb though.

Good point i agree about the quality of the weathermen, i was stunned watching the countyfile forecaste mild thursday a bit colder the weekend a northerly, when i ask you is a northerly not cold in the middle of winter flowing from the arctic?a real cant be bothered attitude.

The good old days Fred, where the forecasters knew their stuff, and weren't just a pretty face towing the AGW party line!
