Thunderstorms here! Hail, lightning flashes every minute, gusty winds a real good thunderstorm for November!

The first sleet of the season here with the temp' at 2.1c.

No sign of any 'real' snow despite the forecast stating there could be slushy snow down to lower levels.

Moderate snow, starting to settle. Strange really, my temp. is showing 0.9C, dewpoint -0.8c, charts showing any -5 800s are miles away. Just goes to show that snow can fall even when the 'setup' doesn't look right at all !

cloudy and wet-min in th early hours of 1.7C giving another ground frost-temp now on 2.7C so not surprised to read of sleet and snow at higher levels.

Forget about 850mb temps in this kind of set up; look at the Watnall ascent, think 'downward penetration of snow level', a better guide-similar for tomorrow morning.

Hello,

Sorry Mods if this is not the way things are done, i'm more of a lurker than poster, howvere I want to share this morning's episode of a nasty squall. A top gust of 48mph (good for my sheletered location), a rain rate of 26mm/hr with 1.4mm falling in 6 minutes and a air pressure kick of 0.9mb in 5 minutes with the passage of the squall. All the data acquired from my Davis VP2 but I was awoken, by I imagine, the winds at the time. No Thunder heard for sure.

I attach the NW radar grabs at the time in question.

Windy Cheers
