I really hope we get some snow haven't had any in nearly 2 years. Forecast shows this Saturday and Sunday we should do well.

I do hope so, WM...I've not seen anything since 2007!! :D

I am surprised we didn't see more than a few grains this morning with the cold we've had over the last few days. Very disappointing this morning.

Keeping fingers X'd for some reasonable snow over the next week. A nice dumping will give me extra time off work for the Xmas period :D

Right down by the sea, not far from the Dolphin Tours...You're right (technically) but 1cm of snow for about three hours (October and December) doesn't really count??? :):):):D:D:D

But, I don't need 7 feet to be happy! :80:

Well the Scottish Eastern Borders didn't even get anything to write home about in February this year, the last proper snow we had here was probably about 2 years ago aswell.

It's had me quite frustrated listening to the "southerners" moaning when it started looking good for Scotland but less good for the south, as I was thinking you have already had snow this year - maybe not this winter but its still more than we have had!

Fingers X'd and despite saying I won't look at the charts until nearer the time....... I find that I just can't help myself :)

Same us us then, by the shore in sunny nope - still swearingr***. Kids were decidedly pithed off last winter. We have come to not expect snow ever here, so when it does, it's a nice surprise (unless you're some kind of softy).

Can't offer you 7 feet though; aren't your own 2 enough?

there's some weird software here - can't even write my home village's name without upsetting it??

I don't know about you (indigenous) guys? But, IMO, 2009 was just about the most pathetic winter I've ever known since moving up here in December 1988??? Let's just hope that next weekend will make-up for it?? :good:

Just checked Cairngorms National Nature Reserve and it says -16c for wind chill temps down to -9c and snow. Might take my sledge there.

Might take my house there...FOREVER

Quick question....

Is this just the cold spell discussion for Scotland or is it the cold spell discussion for Scotland and some ramping too??

I'm not being negative but as you can all appreciate I am sure - I would rather that any information about our likely chances of getting snow was not based in fantasy / hope... I will take some "not quite fantasy but not quite fact either" though :whistling:

I've been on the Model Output rollercoaster for a few weeks - and I feel like I need to plant my feet on the ground for a bit.....

UKMO says yes, ECM sort of says yes, GFS sometimes says Yes and sometimes says No.

All the Synoptics scream yes.....

but....
