The marvellous Met Office invent feature shows how they are expecting things to go over the next 36 hours:

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/pws/invent/weathermap/

Select Rainfall to view the predicted developments, including that band currenly close to the North Norfolk coast.

Ocean i really need some help and advise my daughter is in Canturbury she is going to try to drive home to Maidstone. When will the snow arrive and will it effect her drive. I want her home safely as i feel if she stays in Canturbury i will not see her till Tuesday next week. Can anybody advise what she should do and timings please she is 19 and has never driven in this sort of snow.

Thanks

Yup! another one i forgot to add to my ignore list :drinks:

Thanks for that link, amazingly i hadnt come across it before. Personaly i think the best chance for down here for today is that blob over East Anglia that is very slooowly edging south. Come to Jason, come to Jason!

Same scenario Here. I am due in at work at 12pm which is 5 miles down a country road. I'm not going to risk it, Arriva aren't running any buses (they are bloody useless) and I have never driven in snow like this before so I am not even going to attempt it,

Does anyone think luck may change for us here in East kent who only got a light sprinkling like icing sugar?

BBC are saying maybe sleet/snow 3pm onwards but yesterday they said the showers here would be more of rain and it snowed for about half hour giving a dusting.

Is the wind direction going to change to a more Northerly in the next few hours?, Met Office seem to suggest that this may happen. I f so are we in South East Kent going to get more snow later on today?? Anyone?

Rather chaotic scene outside my office window at the crossroads, people slipping over as they cross the road, car at the lights on a steep hill wheelspinning and not moving forward, police out with their shovels. Lol

we had that here when we had a dusting... car slid sideways and a sports car got stuck... so I can only imagine how bad it is where you are!

Proof that it wasn't just snow that was a problem yesterday, big wind and big seas off of Lowestoft.

Film taken by my husband of a tug having a real struggle. Posted this once but the topic closed straightaway.

Met radar shows a band of showers heading south, currently over Norfolk looks like more snow is possible for me!

Thanks for sharing that with us. It was certainly very wild, and I for one wouldn't have liked to be out there in those conditions.
