To be honest I'd take a 1-2in covering in Shrewsbury. We regularly miss out. How can you all be so certain, on the midlands boards, it's all uncertain and negative doom and gloom

Just to let everyone know, there is a moderate to heavy snow shower crossing the Aberstwyth area at the moment, and it seems to be moving south eastwards. It's been snowing here for nearly 2 hours now :D A bit more sleety at sea level though.

LOL.

Good it has already started to turn to snow as on the weather it was milder up there than it has been further south. They had rain when the South East England was forecasted all that snow.

With the air being generally colder here I'm hopeful for the majority of the front turning to snow.

yes that GH has reached a dizzy height and sets winter up nicely for Western Europe. We need to catch up a little with the Southeast this weekend now, but evn if we had 10ft we would never get the media attention they do.

Very positive signals regarding the Stratosphere so the outlook is also cold from that point too so hopefully my forecast of an 80s winter will be true.

An 80s style winter was forcast here in september with more cold winters to come, about the same time metoffice forecast a mild winter.

bbq summer , mild winter just hope thy forecast a cold wet summer for next year - we will have a heatwave then

Snow charts for tonight show we`ll get some snow hopefully at least.

I know. I looked on MetOffice and it's forecast sleet.

I'm hoping they're wrong.

With the warm front just ahead it could be that temperature and dew point rise too high for snow, at least to begin with.

At the moment it's 0C and the dew point -2.8C for me.

Min of -8c last night, it steadied from 0200 though what with bits of cloud and the wind backing more NW.

A dusting recently, good to see more showers coming over from Cardigan Bay too, although its up to 0c now and its thawing out there (influence of the less cold Atlantic air mixed in with this system to the north).

I see that Aber's had a little bit which is a good sign for those inland and with height:

Aber Prom snow

Still not giving tonight's event the respect it deserves,it should be the focus of the weather forecast, not today's maximums.

We have a covering here in Rhuddlan at sea level, even Rhyl a few miles away have snow which is rare.

Looks like im going to be in for a shower now, had some this morning temp has rises to above 0 today but has gone back down to -1 now frost on cars completely gone. Bbc's forecast for tonight is apalling I've lost all faith in the Bbc in the past few days.

Oh well, a sign of the less cold air up there, as its sleeting here, once it gets heavier it will be snow though!

Trouble is there is a fair chance that they will be right with the warm sector heading for Wales, we will see, at least its adding interest for us!

Now thats more like it...a bit of height and being more inland:

Pontrhydygroes snow

ITV Wales seem straight forward. (Well what we want to here then :p )

Wintry showers most places, probably turning to snow in most places latter part of evening.

It's the lack of detail given in the forecast that is the problem, and the real chacne of any rain turning back to snow has been completely avoided.

No warinings for the South of the UK for snow yet. Looks like they are going to issue warnings for certain areas as we go through the event.

I still think we will see Snow on the backedge tonight, although the BBC arnt really going to mention that.

Had a snow shower about 15 mins ago heaviest so far of this cold spell, actually give a dusting before clearing away.

To me the Beeb looks OK, perhaps SW Wales rain this evening but then plenty of snow showers throughout tomorrow are shown:

Good Old Beeb

Looking at the radar, ive got a chance of catching the edge of a sleety shower in the next half an hour, although just looked out my window towards pembs and the sky is turning very dark.
