Very clear starry night, calm, almost down to -6C at 550' ASL and 10 miles from the Irish sea as the crow flies. Sort of great - but also really using the fuel.

It has been the coldest night since 3rd March 2006 with a min temp of -3.8C.

Currently partly cloudy with occasional light snow flurries. Theres a shallow covering now but nothing measurable. Temperature: -2.9C, Dewpoint -4.4C.

its going to be an interesting day watching the weather

here its clear with temp -3.7C with a min of -4.1C, so about the 3rd lowest temperature of the year I think without actually looking at January and February.

I'll post every 3 hours into the model thread with the chart.

Thanks for that, John...I'm guessing that it'll start as sleet or rain but might later turn to snow as the colder air digs in behind...I'm hoping so, anyway!

yes but check Extra/NMM pete to see how the 1000-850mb thickness behaves along with depoint and 850mb temps

using the well know will it snow etc-asuming it shows 2mm preicp or more through the frontal passage?

Very cold, didn't expect it to get to -7c last night (well, -7c was reached half an hour ago! a much toastier -6.9c now).
