Temp here is -1.3

If we do get the snow what time can we expect it to start?

I hope the band intensifies otherwise its looking like being a measly attempt for the West mids again. :)

talk about pessimism on this thread..... then again it has it's advantages.

there will be some dissapointed people here later on but also some happy faces. . . i will be happy however even if i get a flake of snow.

.... i mean an inch. diablo.gif

looks like it is reintensifying, the question is: will it be rain, sleet or snow

I think the western side of the country will get very little seeing as how the band is moving and really weakening on our side.

I hope. We should be looking towards whats in the Irish Sea/Northern Ireland.

Tomorrow should see some showers. I like the way the local paper said Ocassional Whiteout conditions! :(

Hmmm PPN is intensifying ever so slightly on it's Western side, near the Cheshire gap, still doesen't look very good but could see 2cm out of it, better than 1cm that I predicted earlier :(

The evil mild sector. :(

Temp still good hre.

bang on -1 with a dew point of -3.4

If anything fell as rain I would be VERY surprised.

It's bound to warm up a degree when the band arrives but I cannot see that dew point going above 0 at any point.

Its ironic that the warmer sea temperatures & lack of mountains in the North West have weakened it (should do the opposite) yet its plowing through mountains and the cold north sea without losing intensity!.

Just hope we get a deep low smash into the UK and the south east gets rain while we get snowed in for once.

I think I got crowned the clown of Netweather years ago :drinks::yahoo:

I was never worried about the temperature, only about the PPN but the PPN has ever so slightly picked up around the Cheshire gap so it's better than before.

So does anyone else in the midlands have marginal temperatures? STILL rising here at 0.8 and -0.7 dp so getting more and more likely to be freezing rain which is what my mum has just informed me the local forecast said, looks like they may be spot on.

So whats your predictions on amounts then andy?? I think people who are worried about temp in terms of what is falling out the sky dont need to, im worried about temp slightly because if its above 0 then we wont see as much stick around. Were only likely get 5cm at best and we need every last bit to stick around a while, especially if you want it to last till xmas, albeit thats an outside chance.

I don't suppose it was the Express and Star was it? Because it said exactly the same in our edition! :drinks:

The mood has always been quite good in here considering 95% of us at least dont have any lying snow. Im sure some parts of the world would have been moaning no end.

Congratualations! Lol.

Does look like we could see some showers. BBC still shows a band of snow later in the day getting very close to us. Could be quite blowy especially in the showers.
