Thats a good point Kevin, thats a serious possibility away from the extreme coast. Even here the ground is still near freezing. The only problems is that initially the rain may warm the ground on the coast.

I am however absolutely certain that we will see good snowy conditions tomorrow

I'm thinking these little showers that are popping up bode well for tomorrow!

Let us hope you are right stephen. Infact conditions here have been conducive for snow for a while now. It certainly is looking good for tomorrow regardless my own reservations (we have been here before lol) even tonight I might seem some of the white stuff.

Had a heavy but brief shower of rain/sleet about 30 mins ago, dont know what to expect tonight now.

Hi Mark - good share the frustrations of being on the Fylde coast this time of year when we want snow!! Here's hoping...

Gotten really cloudy here, some mean dark clouds about. Had a very small flurry of light snow, it's stopped now.

Just thought i'd add that rain is readily turning to sleet and snow about a mile outside of the city. Draw a line south of Liverpool and anything west of that line is getting rain or it's warmer.

There is definitely some sort of split occuring between the coast and around a mile inland, where people are reporting snow showers..well snow flakes lol

Just had a very light snow shower and now I can see blue sky!!!

Plenty of clouds behind it though and temp currently -0.3c

PS

if you look at the precipitation type below Glasgow, it appears to be readily turning to snow within the front.

Currently Light Hail shower in Lancaster.

You can be pretty sure that if its it's snowing in Lancaster it will be snowing in Preston, Chorley, Longridge, Garstang.

The Inland limit for the influence off the coast is usually about here, perhaps a touch further west.

Tomorrow is the big day for everyone IMO, IMBY today I'm not expecting anything except sleet.

The true testing of the Lune Valley snow shield comes tomorrow... biggrin.gif

It's stopped now. Must have been a very brief & localized shower.

Lol its been so cold out there overnight and today, a Coke bottle we've had in the caravan has literally almost frozen up (despite being in the drawers.)

I'd hate to be homeless or a farmer during times like this.

A cola ice pop, sounds ideal, and tasty.

Temp hovering around zero here and it feels bitter out there.

Around 3 hours until the main bamd hits i reckon

Yeah I would say that, now is a good time to poll everyone, to see what they think they will see falling from the sky. I'm going for snow, giving a covering of 2cm! Edited by Solar Cycles

15- 20cm maybe more for my are i think. People in other threads are saying the band of ppn is increasing in size as it heads south so it could be a good few hours of white gold.
