Another covering here again this morning on The North Wales coast and starting again now. Looking over the mountains ,they are now out of sight so looks like more on the way.

Something for the members in Wales to keep an eye on.

How could it possibly be north eastern? the wind is North westerly so if it moved south from North East Wales well it would head straight for the midlands are you sure it wasnt the North West.

Jack your opion on shower activity for wales?do you think with current wind direction north wales will have showers not south?

Showers set to develop during afternoon/evening and possibly overnight.

Just a reminder to others who may be disappointed by their lack of snow, quite often the heaviest snow has come a bit later than the initial front, remember last winter as an example.

Im not a metrologist so I have no idea but if its linked to the midlands id just of thought it would effect eastern areas of Wales, the bbc arent saying much about it so I really do not know.

BBC got it right for me last night, light rain they had signalled from Thursday and they were correct against all on here.

I hope snow materialises for you and us but its real clutching at straws

Jackone to be onest I'm rather disappointed that there isn't so much activity coming in off the Irish sea, Seems very poor for this kind of setup.

This is very disappointing. I'm never so negative but good god, South Wales is perhaps the only part of the country not to have seen and with no real sign of seeing heavy, widespread snow. It's quite rare and a bit if a surprise considering how well we've done out of other setups this decade. The one consolation is that any snow is likely to settle due to the air and ground temperatures.

Yes it's been extremely dissapointing here in S. Wales. A flurry on Thursday from a rogue shower is the sum of snow from this cold spell so far. We'd have far more rain than snow. The Gods seem to be conspiring against us this time and even next week isn't looking too promising too be honest. Hopefully something can rescue this cold snap from the jaws of total dissapointment next week.

Looks like it's back to mild southwesterlies and torrential rain after Christmas day too.

Snow nearly melted here now after a good dusting overnight, my outside temp is showing 8c from 0.9c about 2 hours ago. Not sure if that is correct but we do have a westerly wind again blowing warm air off the irish sea.

I think our chances will increase as the week wears on Barb, as the milder air tries to push in from the south west. Then again, from what we've seen lately (and knowing our luck :whistling: ) it'll be plain old rain. Oh well, at least the sun and frost looks nice!
