Cloud is increasing to the north, snow showers are approaching I think, hopefully, be very light and local though.

Yes we are pretty much the 1/6th of the UK without snow at all, most areas around the UK have had snow except from the South West and S Wales. This is turning out very disapointing, a big cloud has just blocked the sun here.

I'd love to get some sort of streamer tonight lol and have inches dumped.

I have a funny feeling that we'll end up with nothing to be honest.

Trouble is the wind's now too westerly. The showers in the north aren't being blown down to south Wales, but across to the borders.

If it's not one thing, it's another!

Just goes to show what a difficult combination of factors we need for snow.

We've got snow that's settled - showers are blowing in from the north.

Country tracks week ahead forecast i take your on about because countryfile has finished untill the new year? Wasn't overly promising in my personal opinion far to sketchy and marginal yet again.

Most of our best snow periods in the south of wales have been when a low comes up from the south and bumps into cold air -

Easterlies don't tend to deliver because of the travel required for the showers to get over land

Northerlies struggle as well because of the mountains in north and mid wales

Westerlies struggle with temperature over the Atlantic ocean

so we are just left with a southerly low hitting cold air

That's what the GFS is forecasting ti happen on Christmas eve. Now whether that actually happens is quite another thing of course. Plausible though.
