Temperature will definatley be low enough. 0.8c here atm and ground is frozen solid. Any flakes at all will stick.

So alot did melt yes?

No still intact only gone of the roads

Just came back from a meal out and I can say that it's gone a lot colder here in the last 2 hours! The thaw has stopped and it has turned icy as well! My snow cover is sitting pretty!

Surprised to see the increased shower activity in the Irish sea1 I think Manchester will get the southern part of those showers and everything that falls will settle on the frozen surfaces!

I expect the latter part of the night to be dry and clear.

Snowing here, but very lightly, and I think this will be the theme for the rest of the night. Not amounting to a great deal. Saying that there's an emerging and active band of showers just around Northern Ireland at present, so if they keep there strength? Who knows. That will be when I'm probably in the land of nod though lol

What are the chances of the band of showers currently crossing Ireland reaching us?

Short sharp burst there. At present I have absolutely not idea if those showers affecting Northern Ireland will make it over the Irish sea in their present state, or if they will fizzle out.

yep petering out now.

i dont think those showers will reach us dodge.Any showers we have had seem to be forming in the irish sea.

Might get the odd heavy shower but i think they will be very isolated now.

anyway if skies clear we should have a bitter night and probably near to an ice day tomorrow!!

Snowing in the city centre too but not too much.

Yes probably. Seems to be something more potent just developing off the Northern tip of Northern Ireland. They are going to be in for a surprise in the next hour or so.

I'VE BEEN WATCHING THE TRACK OF THE SHOWERS THROUGHOUT THE DAY OVER iRELAND AND DURING THE DAY NONE REACHED THE EAST COAST , HOWEVER THE BAND THAT IS CURRENTLY PASSING THROUGH HAS REACHED THE EASTERN SIDE WITHOUT FIZZLING OUT , SO IT MAY WLL BE THAT THEY PASS THRU', INTENSIFY AND DUMP A LOAD ON US OVER NIGHT , OR MAYBE I'M JUST CLUTCHING AT STRAWS.. :)

PS sorry for the upper case , didn't realise my Caps lock was on :)

Well this time I'm not getting your snow guys lol - maybe I'll just have to be patient for a few mins, that or it could be a very localised fall.

Probably the fact that Sholver, Denshaw Delph and saddleworth are Higher up mate, were vritually always IN the clouds up here. infact that high up sometimes when you drive down into shaw from sholver it can be snowing here and cloud like then all of a sudden you drop down into total clearness and dry. :good:. Virtually stopped here now but all good and another 1cm or 2 topup :)
