A bounding day indeed.

Sunny with perfectly clear skies, 4.2C currently

Overnight minimum: 0.0C

Its going to get really cold tonight, brrr

Not too far to the North of you in Poulton, Lancs, it's just above freezing with about 5cm of lying snow. Heavy snow followed by heavy hail earlier. Now clear and sunny with clouds not too far away.

One of the coldest days in the past 15 years in Aberdeen today.

Forecasters got it wrong big time - they had a max of 3° here today and the temperature has in fact fluctuated between -3° and -5° all day.

Only bad thing it hasn't snowed here since Saturday afternoon.

Temperature still dropping here and fog thickening up. Just -1.7C with no wind, could be the coldest night of the winter...

Clear periods and frosty again last night.

A slight covering from yesterday evening's snow shower, this has managed to last all today in the shade. Today was sunny but very cold with a light breeze (south to SE).

Min: -4.1c @ 0800

Max: 2.1c @ 1330

Rain (snow melt) yesterday: 1.4mm

Dry today.

Currently: Clear and calm and frosty.

Temp: -2.9c

Pressure: 984mbar, falling slowly

Somewhat ironic that the combination of well below zero temperatures and very low pressure, does not seem to wish to provide Wales (and other areas) with much in the way of snow!

Freezing fog until mid-morning, the fog then slowly clearing to allow sunny spells before midday and into the afternoon. A veil of cloud has gradually spread in from the south during the late afternoon, spoiling what was potentially a very cold night here. The temp' had fallen to -3.7c by 1630 but has risen a couple of degrees with the increasing cloud cover. It would be more bearable if we were destined to get some snow from the system to the south but it looks very likely that it will slide away eastward well before getting this far north and leave us with only the cloud.
