Local METO update quite bullish on rain or sleet for us tomorrow night, snow over Manchester/Pennine regions.

Sounds about right to me Ian...:wallbash:

I want a recount!

Seriously, what with Malvern Hills, Black Mountains and Cotswolds hemming us in, its no wonder our weather comes from West Country. Hey ho...

We really need that Lanc snow to move SE. It looks to have a nice punch to it, like not fading out or anything.... if it could just change direction..dry.gif

Into tomorrow, after a cold, frosty night in many parts it's more of the same with wintry showers more prevalent across the northern half of the country once more. An area of rain will start to push into the southwest later in the day and that will move northeast during Christmas eve.

It's likely to fall as rain and sleet in much of southern England initially at least, but will turn more wintry as it moves north and meets the deeper cold, where things start to look very interesting is as it pulls away later in the day and overnight the cold air undercuts and moves back south to give a chance of further snowfall as wintry showers develop in behind it.

Netweathers forecast ^^

True. But the Welsh snow looks like if it made it all in one piece over the mountains, then it would go south of me into Northampton (WHO DONT NEED ANYMORE SNOW BY THE WAY!!!!) lol!!

Maybe with the sunshine out (very sunny here despite fog predicted to linger) it might kick up a few more showers in-between the bands??? maybe? pretty please-oh Gods of Weather? (she asks with hands clenched in desperate prayer)

I think if the showers made it through wales they would head this way, the 850 winds seem to show them being blown into wales nw to se but winds over land are west to east. so they should head directly east if they get anywhere near.

Where the bloke who was complaining shrewsbury dont get anything, hes inline for a direct hit if they dont die out

The problem is though they will die out. They NEVER make it over the Welsh mountains, they get to the border and just die instantly.

A big wall of vicious looking cloud visible to the far west here now, though i fully expect it to be the usual case of a few wisps of cumulus cloud at most by the time it gets nearer.

There is a massive, heavy shower over Wales Conor, but as you say it will be reduced to bits of cloud by the time it reaches the West Mids snow shield.

It`s a large dying CB but looks stronger to the NW,another couple to the west.

Had one snow shower this morning which gave a slight dusting followed by some fog at 0c

It seemed to be holding up quite well, but now it sees England it is starting to die. Something must survive though, all that can't die within the next half hour surely?

The Met Office radar seems broke as well, stuck on 11.30.

Happy Days, you have your own forum, please use it...

They have completely missed out 1200 for some reason, it is available on the NW one though which is odd.

Yeah it is holding up very well, we COULD get something out of this. Not getting my hopes up though.

Ive cut away anaprop off the radar to give a better idea of how close the beast is getting, its dying though fast.

The black line is where everything usually gets to before a sudden death, dying cirrus clouds moving over us now.

Suddenly the heavy part of the shower is moving SOUTHSOUTHEAST in a WSW wind direction, :hi::crazy::hi::hi:

1240 radar update shows further weakening, it will be completely dead by the time it reaches the Staffs/Shrops border. Telford should see at least a few flakes though Conor.

How sad we are getting excited about such a tiny blob - shows how desperate things have become! Our fog has lifted, the sun is out, the temperature is rising and I think our sprinkling of snow will soon disappear :hi: Incidentally, my parents in Warwickshire also, but about 5 miles away from me, had snow last night!
