What a load of rubbish.

As always, it's either a few days away or we are just on the wrong side of the knife edge.

I give up.

Nothing beats cold and rain eh. Roll on global warming, least then it will be warm and rain.

Yup cold rain is the worst but then id say sleet doesnt get a much better vote either. I am glad i did not have to work outside today though. I am back out in it wed though damn it. I may have to make it a paper work day. biggrin.gif

This is what I posted on the other thread

"Good agreement from METO GM and GFS 12Z of a possible major snow event in the south west sun/mon/tue. GFS gives totals of 5cm to 20cm and it would hang around as well.

Also Friday/ possibly thursday needs to be watch due to a lot of precip just in the channel, if this can edge a bit further north then it could produce some nice snow for more southern areas (Dorset the most likely in the SW). And as Matt pointed out the front as it moves back on Thursday might give a bit of wintry precip. The 12Z NAM brings 1000-850 thicknesses down to the magic 130 level during thursday.

All in All alot to be thankful for. "

These are the precip ensembles for Dorset. Alot of support for snow on the turn of the decade (Thursday/Fri), even if it isn't shown on the ops run and it will be cold enough by then, also some support for the 3rd/4th/5th event.

I fully understand the gloom of the past 2 weeks, but one time eventually it will happen :o

Yup, sleet would be equally awful.

Going to hold out hope for later this week into next though.

Excellent post Iceberg.

Perhaps it might be a New Years to remember?

Thought the front would have cleared north by now. Maybe it'll linger a while longer. Continuous moderately heavy rain/sleet if I'm thinking optimistically. I am just willing it to snow so much! Friends from 7 miles away in the Cotswolds have been telling us about the snow there. So close yet so far.

large beefy shower's building just off Cornwal.

Anyway my temp is still 2.0

I think we at lower level's have missed out apart from a few places this time.

But doesnt matter as we have plenty of time for more snow event's..

We need to get Uri Gellar on here and for him to meditate over Iceburg's post

and Northleach is the place to be

Hi,

I would say 2 inches, but there's a hell of a lot being blown around!

Phil.
