Aye the bird feeders have been very popular outside, I was in Cookstown today I see your snow is all gone, we still have some but its crap stuff really.

I had to laugh with the amount of retorts you got touched a raw nerve methinks

In Leinster, we've had some light hail showers, that's it.

I think the next few days will be mostly dry and I don't foresee any decent snow for here.

Ulster might have some chance for snow on Sunday.

Currently a sleet/hail shower here with a temperature of 3.3c but falling fast.

Has turned more to light snow now as it passes by, and has left the road and pavements white. Temp down to 1.5c and still falling.

Radar picking that up. Seems to be travelling my way. Won't last long but will be nice to see it when it hits!

Was up the Galtee mountains earlier today. Didn't make it to the very top but got up to around 600-650m. Shall throw up some pictures of the snow and scenery soon!

Just happened to check up to see if anything interesting was in the pipeline only to see the talk of the recent shower in Bangor. Looked out the window and it's coming down lovely, place is white already. :drinks:

Just had a look at the Mournes half an hour ago and they've been well pasted from 750 ft upwards (my estimate but I hike (and therefore navigate) a lot there so it's not pie in the sky). So to anyone in greater Belfast or anywhere in the eastern side of NI, head down there if you need a fix of lying snow.

The higher Sperrins in the NW are also looking white, but they're too far off for me to be any more precise than that.

Lovely big flakes in that shower. It has passed now and didn't really last that long but it was great while it did. Ground is white again and cold enough to stick around. That just appeared out of nowhere forming in the Irish sea!

Lets hopw for more of those!

Nice pics NaDamataSam. Some fun up there im sure! :whistling:

Anyway happy new year to all.

Some lovely radar echoes heading straight for me just now.

They will probably head in your direction after they pass through here.

The temp on the coast is 0.6C, with a cold NWly breeze blowing off the land.

The wind aloft is increasingly more easterly and less northerly than earlier, helping the showers come ashore further up the coast. North Dublin, Meath, and possibly south Louth, may get some showers soon.

The Sperrins are BURIED in snow. You can tell theres a lot of snow when all you can see is brilliant white and nothing else, they look like they've been painted white!

Excellent stuff. I only get to view them from a hill above Richhill but they did look very white. The Mournes looked sensational too and it bodes well from some excellent winter walks over the weekend, all being well. On that note, happy new year to all on both sides of the border and let's have a nice snowy white January!!!
