http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

Looking similar length and intensity to what I had. 15/30mins leaving 0.5cm

Look on the General Model Output Discussion.

They're ramping it up, saying the SE will be snowed off with plenty for everone South of the Pennines

yeah ecm does look great, snow will come as far west as stafford and shrewsbury, bit like feb 1-2 last year, should have a chance of snow mon-fri next week

Nick, if the ECM come off you could have double what you had in feb.

Regions more to the east ..East Mids laugh.gif could see some very, very heavy snow.

It's not yet ''nailed'' but 48 hours of heavy snow could be on the cards.shok.gif

I wasn't actually here for most of the Feb event (2nd-6th), I was in Somerset on a Geography trip. Incredibly the place I was staying (Nettlecombe, Somerset) had the deepest officially recorded snow in England, a whopping 30cm!

That snow on the Sunday/Monday was brilliant though, proper powder snow which when kicked was like icing sugar!

Trust me, I'm ready. :)

I know how you feel. As cold as it has been, and is going to be, I just can't seem to get that exited.

Snow just seems to miss us in Nottingham. :)

Having said that, it has just started, but very light :bad:

And just as you say that - it's now started to snow in NG7! :) Looks very fine flakes.

If you think Nottingham's bad for snow, bear in mind where I live when not at uni - just outside of Bournemouth, must be one of the most snowless places...

Wet snow is the best for snowballs, but to get that you need a marginal situation and it will melt within a few days. What the ECM is showing is far from marginal

With dry snow you get drifts and will probably last longer.

The showers will of course lose intensity, but the strength of the wind, the instability and the sheer number of showers will mean that everywhere in the Midlands will get at least a respectable covering (ie. a few inches).

I'm in NG5 so not that far away.

I'll let you know when it stops :)

My elevation is only 270ft but that was up there with some of the best snow I've seen. I think it was Feb 07 the other best.

Can you make snowballs with this snow we're on about? Thats the best thing with snow, snow balls and men.

It's a long way off but at the moment, what depths are we looking at.

Earlier on, it was all, we're not getting anythng in the Midlands, so what's changed?
