The snow is melting quite quickly here at the moment which is disappointing.Plenty more opportunities in the coming days though :)

I'm sure that your system is faulty Lewis - I'm reading as follows - 1003.7hpa, wind direction W, 0.1 mph gust, temp 1.1C humidity 85%rh - dewpoints unknown at the minute as my upgraded PC has no serial port so can't link into WD till my serial card turns up ! :) -hope that helps Edit - (just used a Dew Point calculator -0.9c DP Here :rofl:

This snow to the north of us is making tedious progress south.

Hope it doesn't fizzle out before it gets here :)

Mate I have got a La Crosse WS3600 I've have for 4 years no issues works brill - plus an old 2nd hand Davis Pro - both work on WD Software no issues -I've even an Oregon Scientific Weather Phone and that sensor has been going for 5 years no problems and both the weather stations are within .01 of each other on most days -I would say moving it isn't going to make any difference especially if its in your garden and its away from buildings and its that far out - I would say you are about 2-3 miles from me if that -seems well odd :)

Nothing on the ground here today apart from the very lightest sugar coating. Rather cold though with a temperature of 0.7C. The dewpoint is -1.0C so still favourable conditions. Suprisingly considering it was a direct onshore breeze last night there was a min temp of -1.8C.

Quite disappointing that the shower activity has been rather anaemic in this area once again. Still lots of time left though.

You got an elastic thermometer Lewis?? :)

Where's all this white stuff we were promised? Someone said 7-12cm and there's no sign of anything near those levels. Can't remember who said it...... I'll have a read back..

In reply to Lewis' comment earlier: no we didn't get any snow, it fizzled out before it got here. dry.gif Looks a bit iffy on the snow stakes now but I guess showers can pep up anytime - we shall see.

FYI current temp is 0.4°C with a DP of -1.8°C. Alas during the last hour the sugar coating on the roads has melted although it is still there on old ice and on frozen ground. Wind is currently NNW at 4kt.

Light Without Heat: what is WD software? I have Heavy Weather and boy is it just! Doesn't record Max/Mins etc. I looked at Cumulus on the web but it says that it doesn't go well will LaCrosse stations, which I am sure mine is although it is badged differently. Advice would be appreciated.

Muff.

i use cumulus with my Watson station, what i do is which i find much easier is use the Easy Weather software, and then get cumulus to grab information from the data file (.dat).

Makes lovely web pages cumulus if you know how to edit them, i can make your a web page for free

Heres mine with cumulus;

Yea the Heavy Weather software is a**e but you will need it to run Weather Display (WD) - http://www.weather-display.com/index.php as it does the logging for La Crosse stations - I've had my WS3600 running no bother with it since I got it about 4 years ago. Defo worth it I think its one of the best software out there - also have a look at Ambient Weather that works with La Crosse as well - http://www.ambientweather.com/virtualstation.html :drinks:
