All heading SE, snowing very hard again now.

Thanks for that, still snowing here on the Derbys/Notts border and has been for around an hour.

Absolutely nothing yet, although i can see big white clouds to both the NW,N and NE. Hopefully those showers from the manchester area will turn out to take more of a southerly track or else me and nick in cannock etc wont get to see anything - or certainly not much.

Looking at the http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ radar, looks like any snow is turning to sleet over Leicestershire! Maybe Nick was right about those +5 uppers over Leicester... :wallbash:

:wallbash: I think Andy might now be planning my demise...

I wouldn't be surprised if you've had 2 inches this morning with the extra elevation, but I was in Buxton yesterday and while snow cover was still good it wasn't 6 inches, 3 at most I would say.

I know I'm a bit late but Happy New Year.

We actually had some snow yesterday evening, only a dusting but its is still on the ground. We have clouds coming over but nothing falling from them, have a current temp of 3c when the sun comes out. Had -3.5 last night and the canal is frozen over. Watched the swans walking on the ice this morning.

Looks like the band is going to miss us not dropping quite this far down.

Excellent winter so far lovely and cold.

It's missing me by about 30 miles so far. Hope it takes on a more southerly movement soon as should get a lovely stream of showers if so.

Looks Like Nottingham and Derby are getting a good dumping. :whistling:

wow, still hammering down here, its all snow, temps slowly rose from -6.2 to 1.4 but back down to 1 now. Some of the flakes are almost snowball size, plenty more to come, then the front moving down tonight. Lets hope it all freezes. :whistling:
