Latest radar looking good smile.gif the band of sleet/snow is pushing down quite quickly and in the last hour or so seems to have intensified. hopefully it wont die/fragment till it atleast exits south yorkshire tease.gif

Jed,any thoughts on why no alerts ,even yellow ,for south and west yorkshire.Seems strange to me.

lol ya spoke too soon >

Outbreaks of sleet or snow will spread southwards through the rest of Saturday and be followed by further snow showers through the evening and into early Sunday. Accumulations of 3 to 6 cm are likely in many parts, with around 10 cm likely in places, chiefly over high ground. Widespread is likely to form on untreated surfaces.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on road conditions.

Issued at: 1445 Sat 2 Jan

thats for all of yorkshire. :cold:

Really don't know what to make of the front mving down. Sometimes it looks as though it is moving south, other times south east. Will the band hit us in the east as to me it looks like a W/S yorkshire thing.

metoffice- "the very cold weather continues with snow showers on Monday, but longer periods of snow during Tuesday and Wednesday. Significant accumulations are likely, as the snow will be occasionally heavy."

You got to admit that does sound quite tasty

Well the weather warning now doesn't include NE lincs, but not that that means alot.

We have nothing left now and after a couple of short sharp showers of snow yesterday we only had rain earlier today

Took the lights down earlier and it doesn't feel cold enough for us to get that much and also not being that high doesn't help!!!!!

According to the latest readings at Donna Nook , which isn't too far away from here the temp was 1 with a dew of 0. Hope its at least that here.

Is it me or is the rain/snow band pivotting to the SE?

Hmmmm, not too confident we will see snow, probably sleet. Temps are too high in lower ground Leeds to support snow, hopefully the temps will drop as the front moves in.
