Incredible snow around here, a stark differance from Slaithwaite Village to the tops towards Scapegoat hill.

I'll be posting a link soon with photos from this afternoon on Flikr.

Yeah, we have a dusting up here, but the snow is very light.

Ye, hopefully the heavier stuff should arrive in th next 20 minutes or so.

Temperature now 1.1C and with heavier precipitation the drop should be accelerated :(

On the plus side for those eastern areas that may miss out is that the current 12z gfs run shows more shower activity from later tonight through to Monday morning.I stopped then due the unreliability getting too high.

I agree partly, although we might if we are lucky get something out of this. The two bands currently over the sea near Hornsea seem to be getting a little larger so you never know.

Ive still got some snow cover and i won't be fussed if nothing happens tonight.Maybe a few late nights next week though :(

As the winds turn more NE/NEE, the showers should pile inland with places like leeds, lincoln, york getting hammered! almost anywhere could get hammered smile.gif

Edit: I think you can add Thu to that 2!

The temperatue is below freezing here now. Washed the car earlier on and the bubbles have now turned to ice!! Still doubful over the snow prospects here though. The meteox site is hopeful for areas around here as its predicted radar for 8 tonight has something over us, the most remains in the west of the region though, so good news for those in Leeds/Sheff

haha, its got to be done unknw.gif

I would be very suprised is there was no heavy snow tue/thu though. with cold -10 uppers crossing the north sea in more of a NEE flow, Heavy snowfall as history would tell is 99.9% guaranteed in that set-up.. drinks.gif

Just got back from a trip to Whitby.

Pretty dicey on way back between Whitby & Scarborough over the top as the traffic was at a standstill for long periods and many vehicles were turning round.

5 hour round journey inc. 1 hour in Whitby for fish and chips

What do you think North Lics chances are Buddy? Pleased you got your weather staion fixed. My weather girl barometer had a fit a few weeks back the high outside peeked at 63 degrees c, a new world record I might add!! Back on topic, when will the showers arrive?

Light rain/sleet Leeds city centre now nonono.gif

Don't worry, you are under very light PPN that broke of ahead of the front, so to be getting sleet is a good sign because when slightly heavier PPN comes in it will fall as snow. The temps are dropping in the center so not long to go.
