DO NOT PANIC, PEEPS.

The MetO still has the whole SW down for heavy snow tonight. This was in the updated warnings issued less than half an hour ago, i.e. at 11.50.

DON'T PANIC.

Although I can't help it..... :good::good::good::(

Im hoping it is, As we ar enot getting much here. :good:

Sorry to hear that, its chucking it in Stroud now. I can sympathise, lived in Hucclecote for 20 years! HOWEVER I reckon even the Vale of Glos will covered later, perhaps with 80's style cover. I do remember 8 inches in town!!

The flow is starting to change, and this is where we should start to see the heavier stuff through the afternoon as the shortwave starts to move

The flow across gloucestershire now bringing things in from the West rather than the NW - this means we essentially have a streamer-type setup at the moment

Through the afternoon the flow will start to become SWly, and we see heavy stuff moving up through the bristol channel

Then of course overnight as the front wraps round we beging to see a s'ly flow, then a se'ly flow (its when we get the se'ly flow we can expect the heaviest stuff) then eventually easterly

At the same time the stiff across N. Wales starts to head our way, and meets the stuff coming up from the south. Thats how its all expected to play out so key areas to keep an eye on:

Bristol Channel

N. Wales

Later just west of IOW

Very heavy snow. big flakes now going off.

Problem is..its not cold enough!!!

This will just melt..which it is.

Then big puddles and wet roads. Horrid wet stuff.

We have had a few flurrys now over the last hour, one was quite heavy actually, a dusting on the floor now. Just been watching the news and it looks a lot worse in north devon than here over the higher ground.

Moderate snow here in NTH BTL now.

Doesn't Ian normally post us an update about now, after his morning TV stint?

Just caught the News24 forecast at 12.30 - snow seems more widespread for tonight; Central S.England still seems favourite for v.heavy stuff later and into tom.

Even London and S.E. going to get hit tom morn.

Something for everyone.

Ian, where are you?
