Appears like there is a brief gap between 2 bands of snow. I dread to think what the roads will be like

shortly, in the rush hour. Heard that the snow is ankle deep in Manchester City Centre, so god help us all! lol

Around 15cm of new snow from the light showers yesterday evening and the more organised band late in the night.

Its been dry for an hour or so.

My eyes are to the band moving into Preston/Blackburn on the radar, will that move south and hold together?

It looks like many areas are clearing up with snow on the raintoday radar, but the north band seems to now be tracking south, and the blob in the irish sea is now tracking east :whistling: Might have a fine morning for many area tho

In my spot at the junction between the North West, Midlands and Yorkshire Pennines areas, it’s snowing hard and looks like it may do for most of the day, in fact it looks like we have had a fair amount overnight. No doubt the kids will be at home today, as they were yesterday, that’s despite the roads being clear. Given the possible continuation of this cold spell out towards the 2nd half of January and maybe beyond, I wonder how long it will be before we realise we can’t shut schools just because of a bit of the white stuff. Plus we haven’t had our bins collected for a month now, so that won’t be happening, seriously thinking of taking them to the council offices and dumping them there.

It has stopped now but I am looking at the radar and snow is closing in from the northwest.

Forgive me, I've only just woke up, are we still on for more snow later? I'm hearing on the radio that the roads are treacherous, airport closed, and motorways closed?? Do I go to work or what, need coffee..............
