Now have ~1cm at Moulton. Very wet snow that makes that crumpling sound when you walk on it. I think power cuts very likely with this type of snow, bringing down power cables and or tree limbs onto cables. Snowing steadily very small flakes but heavier area of ppn now very close.

Yeah...not looking brilliant south of Birmingham. It's starting to shape and pivot. The mostly light and scraggy ends of the PPN will die away and it'll hold a while before sinking slowly south.

Continuing to snow moderately here and accumulating fast!

Not as much luck here, right on the NE edge and stopped... only a light dusting.

Some more snow whilst I sat in the nice warm pub so we've got an ok covering (and inch at best) but nothing like many other parts of the UK. If it's disruptive snow you wanted the east midlands was not the place to be! Try the north west, north east, south west or south east....

I know. 4 inches in Cov and Hinckley (only 10 miles away). We have been unlucky. I'm still hopeful that, should this snow event not deliver, showers will feed in later this week <_<

I have a horrible feeling that it will stall literally a few miles south of us. I keep running the radar loop over and over and over again, it is going to be a real struggle just to get the edge of this...

If GFS pans out, then we're good for several hours of sustained snow....If not, then agonizingly close, but no cigar!

I dont know I,m undecided Nick.. But one thing to note is that the radars have been crap all day and with the sat images they give you a better idea of where the wraparound is heading and it looks on that sat loop as if it will get further north?? Whether it will bring much precip with it I,m not sure but as the rainfall radars have been crap and with all the chopping and changing of the models over the last 24 hours I would,nt rule out a few more surprises yet!!
