is there more showers later?

I haven't seen the forecast mate, but going by the radar i would say most of the showers will be to our NE as they are now.

We could catch a few at some point though :)

It's great isn't it? I must get the camera batteries on charge tonight

Looks like the showers have formed a more organised band, the western extent has gone light but the eastern area (over you) has gotten heavier and formed a more organised band moving from east to west.

I'm keeping an eye on that to see if it makes it to Leeds...

You know, I did have a thought that this band could merge with the main band down south and just explode in widespread snow but that's just me being stupid :whistling:

Is it just me or is the stuff coming in over Newcastle way now starting to turn more NNE from a NE earlier? They have some beefy showers up there!

Also, the METO sat. shows a shield of cloud behind the 'arc' of showers.

Is this a bank of stratoform cloud/fog and will it Kybosh convection over the area it covers??

HX7

EDIT: You can really see the impact of Londons 'heat island' as the snow drops into sleet .Quite a little ring of yeuch eh?

Looks like I'm going to hit that gap and It will be over soon; However, with more snow forecast for tomorrow, it could become quite difficult to get about around here.

Snowing here again, nice big flakes which is way better than the little flakes.

Don't you love how light it is outside.

I wish roads were white :D

Looks so pretty at night when you're away from any lighting.

Also like to point out that there's more deep red appearing on the ppn heading this way.

Don't get me excited laugh.gif .

The left lane of the road is covered but the right lane isn't, Im guessing as this road was one way most of the day most of the grit is on there.

Been snowing here for last 30-40 minutes, light and moderate snow, verging on heavy right now, the car that was wiped earlier is now covered in snow, I'm guessing 3-4cm has fallen so faryahoo.gif .

Looks like 4-5cm has fallen, that should put my overall depth to 27cmblink.gif ! Would love to stay up as more lines of showers are heading this way but I can't as I'm up at 6am.

Woken by my 6 week old son for a feed at 2.30am and was disappointed at what sounded like rain but on closer inspection by the hubby it turns out it's snow! Have a new covering which looks like at least in inch - measure in the morning- and now there's more. Here's hoping hubby's school is closed again tomorrow :o

Looking at the radar, there appears to be a large gap now, so that should be it for a while.

More on the way later in the day, so another good day of lampost/radar watching ahead :o

Just had the time of my life on the Leeds Outer Ring Road to and from the airport. I would gess a further 3/4" fell between my outward journey and return 2am to 3.15am. Had the whole ring road to myself, virtually. With whiteout conditions through Horsforth to Adel. And it was an essential journey, too!

Not very well atm and been struggling to sleep so I just gotta out bed to make myself a cup of chocolate and peered outside. Well well well, looks like we've done quite nicely overnight and it still continues to snow moderately outside.

Looking at the garden bench I would say its 6-8cm deep. Its nice to see the path 'becoming' the road so the two can't be told apart.:rofl::good::good:
