Post your reports and weather chat here please.

Hello.

I'll be the first then!

Ok, I've had a couple of alco-beverages so is there nothing to report in the south for example? just watch the news if not sure.

As of 00:55BST I would say 3 inches settled snow here in Newbury and many more dumpings to come.

This is potentially a SERIOUS spell of cold and snowy weather for the u.k in particular the south/south-eastern part where we are terribly over-populated.

Well done the NW forecasters who predicted this desperately cold JANUARY way back in early December, I forget who you are, GMG, TEITS etc.

Anyway I try best not to hype and as it stands my Davis shows a mean Temp of 5.5c below the average in the first 5 days of January and no let up for 2 weeks maybe or more.

One of those wonderful true winter morning skies here.

Just the odd flurry from fairly shallow lumps of Cu drifting around but that oangey glow, everywhere smothered in snow-trees, shrubs, dustbins etc; had a couple of very light showers in the early hours otherwise when it finally finished around 7.15pm last evening is my snow depth.

12cm on the patio decking and 16cm on the drive-just spent 45 mins clearing enough room to get the car out of the garage.

Maybe not a thing to think about too much for some people, TM for instance at his elevation, but for below 50ft in Doncaster its fairly unique. Its the joint 3rd highest ever fall in the records for over 50 possibly 70 years.

temp is 0.1C having been down to -1.3C with a dewpoint of -3.3C.

Woke up to light snow flurries around 8am this morning those these died away soon after to give a dry day with an increasing amount of Sunshine and a high just above freezing at 0.2c, there was about 1 and a half inches this morning generally on the ground and not much has melted at all, currently -3.9c and clear so a very cold night ahead.
