When it comes to the models the star performer has been the NMM IMO. Absolutely nailed today based on the runs I looked at yesterday.

What does the NMM say for kent/east kent later? , i did ask that last night but no reply

Not always Paul it depends on where the colder air coming into it and sometimes the exact evolution of the low, for exmaple this time its been on the eastern side but there have been many times where its been on the western side of the low. Usually in this set-up your right the eastern side will get the milder air obviously because of the drag but with a mature system or a brand new system that hasn't developed that can often be different.

As for tomorrow, a mild sector is going to go right over us Paul, however because its weakening the milder air should steadily be mixed out.

Anyway just seen the radar and still dog rough looking for this area, better for places either further west or east however, and very good for E.Kent right now as well.

Snowing again in Leighton Buzzard, not very impressive flakes as of yet but certainly lots of them. In fact they are starting to beef up a bit now :whistling:

God the radar is making me sick looking at it!

If you have the Nw radar, take a look at the clear slot just east of Ipswich right now and look at the moment of where that clear slot is heading...have any guesses....

Right through to yours truely...

So the last decent shot at snow for this part of the region looks like going past whilst everywhere else gets some snow...screw that!

That is how I felt a few weeks back when we had the last big snowy spell - a huge swath a snow cloud coming down the north sea and into EA on a NE wind, and when it hit land it split into two banks with Norwich in the middle. It was like the parting of the sea! Amazing to see on the radar.

Whoops forgot N Cambs :shok::rofl:

Have you go anything yet Paul? Some monster flakes coming down here in Ipswich now....quite a covering already! What i like the most is the apparent lack of breeze! How are we looking for tomorrow and friday? Convective stuff possible?

Doesn't look like that on the radar - are they expecting some convective stuff or are they using their crystal ball? It looks pretty much light but persistent for the rest of the day from where I'm sitting.

Would be nice if it came true though

DS

ppn band to the N/NE direction is heading our way

Dry slot coming down towards S.Essex, un-real!

No doubting this will give more to Sw/W London then me again!

I'm lost for words just how amazing the synoptics are...and how terrible the actual snowfall has been round this area...I'm just thankfully I got what I did last night otherwise things would have been real bad.

If it freezes up tonight then at the snow I've got should be able to hang around with a few top ups.

Talking of Brighton (in reply to earlier post and as i am here and not in Newbury!) - it is still fairly wet snow no? but I think the temps are dropping. What is the outlook here am getting really confused........

Fairly wet in city centre, but on all the hillier parts it's proper crunchy stuff.
