Can't argue with this from the MetOffice, for Sunday:

"Cloudy with spells of snow, perhaps turning heavy at times through the day. A biting northeasterly wind will making it feel raw and cause snow to drift. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

    Updated: 0343 on Sat 9 Jan 2010"

Morning all, local forecast good for tonight and tomorrow so we shall see!

-4.9C here at the mo with the sun shining and no obvious signs of any melt still so all good for a top up tomorrow!

Whether it comes off as planned remains to be seen though.

Anyone have the NAE for tomorrow handy?

I'm liking the Metoffice forecast for me now - snow from Sunday until Tuesday! I always ignore the BBC online and red button forecasts, which are awful, though their tv ones are good. And most other websites seem to make it up as they go along, apart from netweather of course :D

Anyway, sorry, that turned into a rant. I'm really excited about the next few days and look forward to following it in these threads.

Tbh, Metcheck have changed their forecast for next week and it shows snow shows all next week for here.

Then again, its just automated from the GFS, but still.

Cheers mate, looks pretty knife edge!

Although I see in the old thread it was going for 3cm here (which is what it said on Tuesday and we got 51/2 inches) So every cause for hope I think.

As for the breakdown... snow fun!

Sounds like the low is moving SE with that update, with warnings going no further north that Bristol later in the week.

The BBC seem to be having some serious problems with the graphics at the moment

Thats now 3 forecasts ive seen where the presenter is telling us of snow in an area which is not shown on their graphics, the previous 2 times those graphics have been mended 1 or 2 forecasts later, so will be interesting to keep an eye on this

I'm not sure how theyre generated, perhaps they have an option to auto-produce them from certain model runs, and its this which is encountering an error
